How to get the login information

  • In the menu on the left side of the page, hover over the Admin section and click on the BI Access subsection.

All the information you will need for the next steps will be there.
If you do not see the BI Access subsection, please contact Datahex support to activate it.


Creating the ODBC connector

NB: This procedure is being done through Microsoft Power BI, thus could have different or extra steps depending on the software you are using for connecting your data.

  • In your explorer, reach the following folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools;

  • There, start the ODBC Data Source (64-bit) tool;

  • In the new window, click on Add;

  • Select MySQL ODBC 8.0 Unicode Driver;

  • Click on Finish;

  • Enter a name for your Data Source Name.
    This name should be representing your company to be able to find it easily for the next steps;

  • Taken from the BI Access website page, copy and paste the Server, User, Password and Database information.
    Click on OK;

  • Make sure the data source you just created is in he list and click on OK;

  • Start the Microsoft Power BI software;

  • Click on Get Data and select ODBC.
    Click on Connect;

  • Make sure to select the right data source, which is the one you just created.
    Click on OK;

  • Taken from the BI Access website page, copy and paste the User and Password information.
    Click on Connect;

  • The list of all your forms from Paperless Forms will be shown and you will be able to check the ones you would like to use in your dashboards.
